New open access book: Gandharan Art and the Classical World

We are delighted to announce the latest CARC book, published on 14 December 2023 by our friends in Archaeopress, and made possible by the support of the Bagri Foundation.

Gandharan Art and the Classical World: A Short Introduction by Peter Stewart arises from CARC's very successful Gandhara Connections project. It draws upon a wide range of research within and outside that project to introduce Gandharan art in context and explain the latest thinking about its remarkable relationship with Graeco-Roman art.

The book is available now to purchase in paperback from Archaeopress. It is also available in open access, digital form on the website of Archaeopress, CARC, Google Books, and the Internet Archive. Open access Chinese and Urdu translations are planned for the early part of 2024.
