POTTERY DATABASE Statistical analysis AND DOWNLOADS

You can download results of searches and even the full textual content of the pottery database in various formats using the Advanced Search (new format) by clicking on the download link in the search Results window.

You can then analyse the data in whatever manner suits for your research.

If you need a report correlating two different search terms with each other (e.g.: artist name \ shape name) we can provide a report in an Excel file. (Sample file.)

Any statistics generated in this way need to be interpreted with care, since the database is a non-random selection of extant pottery. However, useful patterns can be charted.

Because of the demands that they place on the server, analyses are presently only available on request and cannot be generated automatically by users. Please contact carc@classics.ox.ac.uk
