Statistical analysis tool on Beazley Archive Pottery Database
The Beazley Archive Pottery Database now offers a facility for generating statistical analyses of data. We can create MS Excel spreadsheets correlating different search terms with each other, e.g.: artist name \ shape name (Excel file).
Any statistics generated in this way need to be interpreted with care, since the database is a non-random selection of extant pottery. However, useful patterns can be charted.
Because of the demands that they place on the server, analyses are presently only available on request and cannot be generated automatically by users. Please contact carc@classics.ox.ac.uk
