There were two Greek sculptors with this name. The 4th-century Bryaxis signed a marble tripod base decorated with athletic scenes in relief, and was alleged to have participated in the sculptural decoration of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. The 3rd-century Bryaxis created the type of the seated god Serapis, which was much copied, especially in Greek Egypt.
