Paul Getty Museum 85.AE.121Greek hero who is sent to kill the monster Chimaera in Lycia. He rides the winged horse Pegasos, which he had first to capture and tame. He had been sent to Lycia by King Proetus of Argos (whose wife had fallen for him) with a sealed letter giving instructions that he be killed; instead the Lycian King sent him against the Chimaera.
