Peleus

Peleus and Thetis. Detail from an Athenian red-figure clay vase, about 430 BC. Arezzo, National Archaeological Museum 1460.In mythology, son of King Aiakos of Aigina. He wrestles with Atalanta at the funeral games for Pelias, and has to wrestle the goddess Thetis to win her as his bride. His son is Achilles.
